Ecuador

In 2001, just weeks after 9/11, we flew to Quito, Ecuador and began serving at For His Children, an orphanage founded by dear eastern Sierra friends, Clark and Melinda Vaughn, and their two children, Phillip and Lesley.

As a builder, I began leading work teams down to construct new buildings and remodel existing facilities. Leah and I served on the Board of Directors, and I was privileged to design and help construct an 11,000 square foot home at a second campus in Latacunga, Ecuador.

In 2009, Leah and I added to our family when we adopted 5 year-old Marina from the orphanage. Marina is now 14, and thriving.

Our work in Ecuador has changed our lives in countless, profound ways!
